A bunch of hot air balloons are flying in the sky

In Providence, homelessness is a growing crisis. The 2024 Rhode Island Point-in-Time Count found over 1,800 people experiencing homelessness statewide, with nearly 70% concentrated in Providence and surrounding areas. Many face not just the loss of housing, but barriers like lack of ID, limited access to benefits, or difficulty reentering society after incarceration.

Better Lives RI’s Day Center provides critical services—ID vouchers, case management, housing navigation, and SNAP enrollment assistance—to help individuals rebuild stability. We also operate transitional housing for women exiting incarceration, offering a safe, supportive space to restart their lives.

💡 You can make a difference: Sponsor transitional housing, volunteer at our Day Center, or contribute financially to help neighbors move beyond homelessness and toward a better future.
